Zoo Project

Showtime – Aug 25, 2010

Makeup, something that requires heat considerations on Ibiza or it melts away is part of every show. Hair design is next, never ever wash your hair on show day or your hair dresser will freak! A set holds better on hair that is not freshly washed. Lastly costumes on, allowing for plenty of breeziness due […]

Beach Clean up

Beach Cleaning report - 19Aug10

Beach Cleaning report - 19Aug10

On Thursday 19th of August from 6pm, Greenheart Ibiza made the third Eco-conscious event in the’ Ibiza Limpia 2010’ (clean Ibiza) series, by cleaning Cala Martina next to the Camping La Playa in Es Canar

As usual we had a multi-national team of more than 20 people collecting a variety of garbage over a two hour period, as well as the presence of divers cleaning the bottom of the sea.

Having lots of fun and awakening the consciousness of beach users throughout the event, we left the whole area totally free of rubbish, just as we’d like to find it when we return in the future. Once again, we have shown that by working together we can leave our planet cleaner and more beautiful!

After finishing the cleaning, we all went along to the Hotel ‘Ciel Azul’ some 300m from Cala Martina, where, apart from having a tasty vegetarian dinner, we enjoyed an evening of live music, the projection of the film 'Home' and a presentation of the Transition Towns movement.

As with all of our cleaning projects so far this year, we obtained the approval and support of the local council, with the idea to form closer ties of cooperation with the administration of each municipality of the island.

For more information on the ‘Ibiza limpia’ campaign and to find out where and when we do the next eco-conscious action, keep an eye on this website and www.ibiza-transition-island.com.

Shoulder injury

After an injury to my shoulder I had spent time seeing doctors and taking medications with no ease of pain. It was not until my ear treatment that the pain began to cease. So this was the first of many treatments, every time giving me a major boost. Michelle has a great understanding of the body and always gave perfect advice for what I needed more or less of, in future.

She has not only helped me physically and mentally, but I have also learned so much from her. I have witnessed Michelle give help to a large number of people, without fail she has done something to amaze every person. And my favorite part - she can tell my stress level by just looking at my ear! I am honored to have had Michelle join us at The Zoo Project in the past, and look forward to seeing her leave so many more people with revitalized body and mind in future!

Sea Sickness Gone

Christian and I spent the summer frolicking about Ibiza, he building solar power plants and me squeezing ears. My flatmates and I took many trips around the island in his red van together discovering hidden nooks and crannies galore. Our final adventure before he returned to his homeland and I to mine, was a short trip to visit the adjoining island of Formentera, only a 2 hour ferry ride away.

We set off on a beautiful sunny day but with high winds making for a very rough ferry ride. Nonetheless, I was jotting around taking pictures of my home Siesta and the Ibiza skyline. I returned to where Christian was and saw he was very pale – he said he was feeling very ill suffering from seasickness.

I immediately sat down next to him and began pulling his ears to alleviate his motion sickness and within seconds his seasickness symptoms vanished. I looked up from him and saw he was not the only one suffering from sea sickness - people from around the world speaking many different languages began motioning for me come to the help their sea sick ones.

I continued to demonstrate how to calm their stomach one at a time (something club goers sometimes have an issue with) and asked them to pay it forward, to show another and help the ones next to them  It was a peculiar sight to behold a ferry load of people pulling at each others ears.

Everyone was smiling and grateful for the assistance in helping themselves feel better. The Captain of the ferry approached me nearing Formentera and thanked me for helping to avoid what would have otherwise a big mess to clean up. I taught him how to squeeze the ears so that he could help anyone on every boat load he took across 6 times a day from now on.
